Job Purpose
The ICT Associate (Telecom) provides essential technical and telecommunication support for IOM's mission in South Sudan and its sub-offices. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and functionality of the mission's information management tools and technology infrastructure. The incumbent will manage the ICT telecommunication infrastructure, ensuring reliable communication and user support, and will be responsible for troubleshooting, orientation, and the overall technical aspects of the telecom systems, directly contributing to the operational efficiency and effectiveness of IOM's activities in the region.
Responsibilities
Provide end-user support for ICT and telecommunication incidents, ensuring timely resolution within service level agreements. This includes logging, diagnosing, and resolving user requests and issues using a ticketing system. Support the creation and maintenance of documentation for ICT telecommunication systems. Offer first-line support for IOM's corporate and in-house applications. Troubleshoot, maintain, and configure various communication devices, including handheld radios, satellite phones, and telephony systems. Install and relocate hardware, manage user accounts, and support information security incident response. Assist in updating operating systems and software patches, and maintain an inventory of ICT equipment and software licenses. Ensure adherence to IOM ICT Standards, Policies, and Guidelines.
Work Experience
Requires strong experience in ICT telecommunication support and administration, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and ticketing systems. Proficient in remote support tools and software application management. Hands-on experience troubleshooting various communication devices and IT hardware is essential. Experience with Identity and Access Management and working in an international organization is beneficial.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of telecommunication equipment (mobile radio, UHF, VHF), Windows Infrastructure, and Active Directory. Proficiency in ICT support using ticketing systems. Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and effective resource management.
