Job Purpose
The Senior ICT Associate (Network) provides essential technical support for IOM's information management tools and network infrastructure in South Sudan. Reporting to the Information Management and Technology Officer, this role is responsible for managing the ICT network across the mission and its sub-offices. The incumbent ensures the smooth operation of network infrastructure, provides daily technical assistance to users, and contributes to the overall efficiency of IOM's technological operations, ensuring reliable connectivity and user support.
Responsibilities
Serve as Network Tier 2 support, handling escalated network issues. Manage and maintain locally hosted networks via the Meraki dashboard. Administer, install, configure, and monitor network connectivity (LAN/WAN/Wireless/VPN/DHCP) for uninterrupted service. Deploy IT networks as needed and support multiple ISP connections, escalating complex issues. Implement ICT network security policies and best practices. Perform routine maintenance, firmware updates, and software patching on network devices. Supervise and provide technical guidance to junior IMT staff. Train users on applications, security awareness, and new implementations. Proactively recommend upgrades and modifications for service availability. Ensure timely resolution of helpdesk queries and suggest optimal technical solutions within local constraints. Manage IT equipment supply and installation for sub-offices, maintaining inventory and coordinating servicing. Liaise with service providers for IT services and equipment procurement, ensuring adherence to ICT standards. Inform users about available facilities and environmental changes. Implement IOM ICT network standards and policies.
Work Experience
Requires strong experience in ICT network support and administration, including WAN/LAN technologies and network security. Proficiency in remote support tools, network application tasks, and troubleshooting TCP/IP, firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs is essential. Experience in an international organization is a distinct asset.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of Meraki infrastructure and services. Strong understanding of WAN and LAN technologies. Proficiency in ICT support using ticketing systems.
