Organizational Context
The Human Resources Administration Unit (HRAU) within IOM's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) provides personnel support services for contract administration, entitlements, and benefits to Professional category staff worldwide. The Senior Human Resources Associate works within the International Operations Desk, specializing in HR administration across onboarding, contract management, or benefits and entitlements.
Job Purpose
This role is crucial for providing specialized HR administration services within the HRAU International Operations Desk. The Senior Human Resources Associate will process, review, and analyze personnel actions related to contract administration, entitlements, and benefits for IOM's Professional staff. The position contributes to the efficient and accurate management of HR processes, ensuring compliance with policies and providing essential guidance on complex HR cases. The role supports the overall mandate of the HRAU in delivering comprehensive HR support globally.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include processing and validating HR administration actions according to SOPs, providing guidance on HR policies, and serving as a resource for complex cases. The role involves reviewing HR actions prepared by others, maintaining HR master data in ERP systems, and coordinating with stakeholders like Payroll and Finance to mitigate risks. Additionally, the position contributes to updating SOPs and internal controls, monitoring transaction trends, and supporting cross-desk coordination. Specialization-specific duties may involve processing onboarding/cross-boarding for Professional staff, managing contract extensions/conversions, handling time management transactions with payroll impact, or processing benefits and entitlements.
Work Experience
Required experience includes Human Resources Management and personnel administration, proficiency with an ERP system, and experience in a multicultural setting within an international organization. Experience in a non-government or government organization is also advantageous.
Skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Knowledge of IOM/UN HR procedures and rules is an asset. Proficiency with SAP is highly desirable.
