Job Purpose
This role is responsible for the efficient daily operations of the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Abuja, Nigeria. The primary purpose is to conduct migration health assessments that meet the technical requirements of resettlement countries. This includes managing medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing, vaccinations, TB management, treatment, referrals, and pre-departure procedures. The position ensures accurate record-keeping, data quality, and adherence to IOM's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and resettlement country guidelines, contributing to the overall health and well-being of migrants and refugees.
Responsibilities
Ensure the efficient daily operations of the Migration Health Assessment Center (MHAC) in coordination with the Chief Migration Health Officer. Conduct comprehensive migration health assessments, including medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing, vaccinations, TB management, and treatment/referrals, adhering to resettlement country technical requirements. Maintain accurate health records and ensure data quality in systems like MiMOSA. Oversee TB and STI treatment, immunization programs, and quality improvement initiatives. Manage incident reporting and data analysis for performance monitoring. Coordinate procurement of medical supplies and oversee MHAC financial aspects, including budget preparation and financial reporting.
Work Experience
Requires professional continuous clinical experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary hospital setting, with the last posting within the last three years. Essential knowledge includes clinical medicine, patient safety, and infection prevention. Specializations in pediatrics, pulmonology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, public health, or healthcare management are advantageous.
