Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Germany is seeking a Project Associate for its Due Diligence Process (DDP) and Case Processing team in Nuremberg. Job Purpose
The Project Associate is responsible for assisting with the assessment of protection needs for vulnerable migrants applying for support under the German Return and Reintegration Programme (REAG/GARP). This includes conducting the Due Diligence Process (DDP), processing applications for return or third-country migration, and ensuring medical clearances and special return arrangements are coordinated. Responsibilities
Key duties include assisting with protection needs assessments for migrants under the REAG/GARP program and coordinating with other IOM offices on protection matters. The role involves conducting the IOM Due Diligence Process (DDP), including vulnerability screening and preparing return plans with mitigating measures, escalating severe protection concerns as needed. Processing applications by gathering necessary information and documents, ensuring medical clearances, and coordinating special return arrangements with escort service providers are crucial. Maintaining accurate case files, adhering to data protection protocols, and reporting non-compliance are also key responsibilities. The associate will provide information on bookings and special arrangements, communicate with donors for approvals, and coordinate specific requirements for vulnerable migrants, including medical assistance and post-arrival support. Additionally, the role involves providing guidance on return procedures to local entities and organizing capacity-building sessions, as well as compiling and analyzing project data for reports.
Work Experience
Required experience includes case management for at-risk individuals, data entry and processing of sensitive data, and working with vulnerable groups such as migrants and refugees. Strong organizational skills and experience contributing to project management are essential. Prior experience with international organizations in a multicultural setting and knowledge of German/EU migration policies are advantageous.
