Job Purpose
This internship program aims to attract talented students and graduates interested in migration-related fields. Interns will gain practical experience within a UN organization, specifically supporting the Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC) in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The role provides exposure to client services, administrative support, and data management within the context of visa application processing, contributing to the efficient operation of the CVAC and IOM's broader mission.
Responsibilities
The intern will provide administrative support to the CVAC under the supervision of the CVAC Team Leader. Key duties include delivering client services in compliance with IRCC standards, assisting applicants with information and forms, collecting and verifying visa applications and supporting documents, and accurately inputting data into application management software. Responsibilities also encompass collecting service fees, reconciling payments, generating reports, and securely transferring applications and passports. The intern will report any issues to management and adhere to all IOM policies, including those on conduct, respect, and data protection.
Work Experience
Less than two years of relevant working experience is required. Experience in migrant-related programs, visa services, or customer service is advantageous. Proficiency in MS Office applications and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are also beneficial.
