Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Mauritius and Seychelles seeks a National Project Development and Reporting Officer. This role directly supports the Chief of Mission and the EHSA Regional Office, focusing on country strategy, program development, management, reporting, and stakeholder liaison with UN agencies and development partners.
Job Purpose
The National Project Development and Reporting Officer is crucial for supporting the Chief of Mission and the EHSA IOM Regional Office. The primary purpose of this role is to contribute significantly to defining the strategic direction for IOM's Country Offices in Mauritius and Seychelles. This involves leading efforts in program development, ensuring effective program management, producing timely and accurate reports, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including United Nations agencies and other development partners. The role aims to enhance IOM's operational effectiveness and impact in the region through robust project planning and execution.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of results-based programs and project proposals, providing technical input aligned with IOM and donor requirements. Review resource needs, identify gaps, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives during project development and reporting. Support the endorsement process for concept notes and project proposals, and assist Project Managers in drafting donor reports according to IOM policies. Research funding opportunities, draft donor profiles, and develop approaches to expand the donor base. Foster effective working relationships with government authorities, diplomatic missions, and other relevant agencies. Develop visibility materials and organize donor briefings. Support capacity building for staff in program development and reporting. Maintain accurate project documentation and correspondence.
Work Experience
Requires experience in results-based project development and reporting, technical writing, and program conceptualization. Experience in project development, capacity building, and liaising with governmental and international institutions is essential. Familiarity with financial administration, migration issues, and UN/donor programming is highly desirable.
