Job Purpose
The National Parliamentarian Engagement Officer will support the planning and implementation of activities involving parliamentarian stakeholders in Germany. The incumbent will contribute to fundraising initiatives, promote IOM's mandate to parliamentarians, and play a key role in safeguarding migrant rights. By fostering engagement with parliamentarians, the position aims to enhance IOM's influence and support for migration-related issues, aligning with the organization's broader goals of promoting safe, orderly, and regular migration for the benefit of all.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting the implementation of the Bundestag Engagement Strategy through targeted outreach and stewardship of parliamentarian stakeholders. The role involves assisting in developing and executing resource mobilization strategies and fundraising activities in coordination with various IOM departments and offices. This includes mapping engagement prospects, identifying partnership opportunities, and implementing outreach plans. The officer will also be responsible for collecting and analyzing information on parliamentarian priorities, coordinating administrative project implementation, and organizing meetings, events, and workshops. Additionally, the role requires participation in conferences, building and sharing best practices, supporting monitoring and reporting of engagement KPIs, and compiling data for reports.
Work Experience
Required experience includes engaging and liaising with partners and donors, specifically the German national parliament (Bundestag). Experience in organizing events and meetings is also necessary. Experience in a similar function or with national/international public bodies, and prior fundraising experience, are considered advantageous.
Skills
Strong communication and organizational skills, confidence in engaging high-level stakeholders, excellent writing, drafting, editing, and reporting skills in German and English. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the German national parliament (Bundestag). Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
