The International Organization for Migration (IOM) implements the "Empowering Women and Girls" project in El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to support the "Empowering Women and Girls" project by facilitating community-level interventions in El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. The role involves engaging with women and girls, local organizations, and community leaders to strengthen support networks and improve access to services. The purpose is to foster local ownership of project processes, enhance community capacities, and contribute to sustainable protection, well-being, and reintegration outcomes for vulnerable women and girls in contexts of human mobility. The role acts as a crucial link, promoting active participation and ensuring interventions are culturally relevant and inclusive, aligning with the project's goals of reducing migration risks and preventing gender-based violence.
Responsibilities
The Community Facilitator will maintain constant communication with the project team, fostering discussion and synergy for activity implementation. Responsibilities include coordinating with local stakeholders and contributing to project visibility, facilitating the integration of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) components, and coordinating consultation processes with key actors. The role involves supporting information collection, validation, and timely transfer to the project team, documenting processes with verification sources, and proposing contextualized actions to strengthen project implementation. Monthly, the facilitator will submit consolidated activity reports, meeting minutes, and track information from the work plan. Specific duties include preparing workshop materials, coordinating participant invitations and follow-up, supporting the logistical organization of events, and assisting with project outreach and strategy implementation, particularly for activities focused on mental health, psychosocial well-being, and economic empowerment for women and girls.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of experience in community development, social work, or project implementation, preferably within humanitarian or development contexts. Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly women and girls affected by migration, is essential. Demonstrated experience in facilitating workshops and community-based activities is required.
