Job Purpose
The Project Assistant (AVRR Project Coordination and Liaison Unit) is responsible for coordinating the voluntary return and reintegration of migrants with health concerns. This involves managing pre-departure, travel, and post-arrival phases, ensuring tailored support for vulnerable returnees. The role requires close collaboration with field project assistants and receiving IOM missions worldwide to facilitate medical assistance and reintegration in accordance with IOM policies and donor requirements. The position contributes to the overall effectiveness and humane execution of IOM's AVRR program, ensuring safe and dignified returns.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the voluntary return of migrants with health concerns throughout pre-departure, travel, and post-arrival stages, including managing medical grants. Support the reintegration process by collaborating with field project assistants and international IOM missions. Ensure the delivery of post-arrival reintegration and medical assistance to vulnerable returnees with health concerns, adhering to IOM policies and donor specifications. Engage with stakeholders to enhance cooperation and promote IOM's assistance for migrants with health concerns. Maintain accurate data records, collect necessary documents, and report on progress, developments, and potential challenges. Contribute to IOM's image as an organization facilitating humane and organized repatriation, and support the timely achievement of project activities and evaluations. Monitor project resource administration and utilization in coordination with the project coordinator.
Work Experience
Experience working with migrants and national migration processes. Experience collaborating with governments and civil society organizations. Affinity with the health sector. Familiarity with donor procedures and experience with client-tracking systems are required.
Skills
Knowledge of MS Office. Preferably holding a driving license B. Stress resilience. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent coordination and organizational skills. Solid team player with a solution-oriented attitude. Fluency in English and Dutch (oral and written).
