Job Purpose
This role supports the implementation of Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Assistance (AVRR) programs, which aid vulnerable migrants wishing to return to their countries of origin. The MHPSS Associate provides essential administrative, logistical, and psychosocial support throughout the return process. This includes assisting with information provision, screening, vulnerability assessment, referral, and facilitating the administrative and logistical aspects of safe and dignified returns, ensuring compliance with IOM standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and logistical support for organizing psychosocial support, primarily using psychological first aid techniques, for migrants seeking AVR assistance. Support the implementation of psychosocial care activities, ensuring accurate record-keeping in the MiMOSA system. Conduct psychosocial care activities in reception centers, shelters, and border points, with a focus on children, adolescents, and families, in coordination with relevant actors. Inform migrants about the AVR program, screen them for willingness and eligibility, and identify potential vulnerabilities for referral and follow-up. Assist migrants with AVR administrative procedures and organize logistical arrangements for safe returns, including consular formalities and transportation. Accompany migrants to airports for check-in and baggage assistance, demonstrating knowledge of Movement Operations SOPs and databases.
Work Experience
Experience in liaison work with government authorities, international organizations, UN agencies, and NGOs is required. Experience in international cooperation and humanitarian organizations is advantageous.
Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with and lead a team. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications.
