Job Purpose
The Programme Support Associate provides crucial programme support and coordination assistance to IOM Mozambique, based in Maputo. This role contributes to the effective implementation and oversight of projects within the Country Office portfolio. The scope includes supporting project development, donor reporting, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and donor liaison, ensuring processes align with IOM standards and donor requirements. The associate will consolidate, organize, and analyze programme information, prepare and track key documentation like concept notes and reports using PRIMA, and facilitate communication between field teams and internal/external counterparts. This role strengthens programme support functions, aiding informed decision-making, accountability, and the continuity of IOM programming in various contexts.
Responsibilities
Support project development by providing technical inputs for results-based projects, ensuring alignment with IOM and donor requirements. Assist in the institutional review of proposals and concept notes, promoting the use of the Strategic Results Framework. Help programmatic units identify needs, gaps, and opportunities. Facilitate operational and administrative aspects of projects and proposals using PRIMA. Prepare narrative reports in coordination with units and experts, adhering to IOM and donor standards. Maintain an up-to-date project database and support knowledge management by curating content for SharePoint. Assist with text editing, proofreading, and translation to ensure quality of materials. Support training activities for staff on humanitarian systems and donor protocols. Perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with international humanitarian organizations, UN operational systems, or in migration/refugee themes is advantageous. Requires attention to detail, organizational skills, discretion, and a willingness to learn.
Skills
Familiarity with international organizations and the IOM/UN common system is advantageous. Knowledge of project development, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and donor reporting is beneficial.
