Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Haiti seeks a Warehouse Assistant in Port-au-Prince. Reporting to the Senior Warehouse Assistant and under the general supervision of the Chief of Mission, this role is crucial for ensuring efficient and compliant warehouse operations. The position collaborates closely with Resource Management and Supply Chain departments.
Job Purpose
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the effective execution of all warehouse activities, ensuring operations are efficient and adhere to IOM's regulations and procedures. This role directly supports the supply chain function by managing inventory, processing goods, and preparing shipments. The incumbent will contribute to the smooth flow of resources, ensuring that essential items are received, stored, and dispatched accurately and on time to meet organizational needs. This position plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of the supply chain within the mission.
Responsibilities
Implement and maintain inventory systems and procedures within the warehouse. Conduct daily/periodic physical inventories to ensure data accuracy. Prepare daily stock reports, track goods received and dispatched, and update stock cards and bin cards. Monitor incoming and outgoing goods, verifying deliveries and processing receipts. Manage internal goods movements and relocations according to instructions, ensuring adherence to warehouse management procedures. Consolidate and prepare kits (e.g., NFI) as required, verifying accuracy and completeness. Supervise and participate in loading/unloading operations, ensuring correct goods and quantities are dispatched. Complete Supply Application Forms (SAF) based on needs assessments. Organize and implement distributions according to approved SAFs under the guidance of the Supply Chain Officer. Submit distribution activity reports to the Warehouse Inventory Clerk. Perform any other related tasks as assigned.
Work Experience
Minimum one year of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, or three years with a high school diploma in warehouse/store management or field distribution activities. Prior experience with international organizations is an asset. Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel) and data analysis is beneficial.
