Job Purpose
The Head, Flexible Funding and Visibility Team leads and coordinates efforts to prioritize flexible funding for IOM, a critical institutional priority for sustainable resource mobilization. This involves spearheading the integration and continuation of the IOM Resilience Campaign within the broader Global Appeal 2026 fundraising strategy. The role ensures high-quality deliverables, strategic alignment across various IOM departments and task forces, and effective engagement with Regional and Country Offices, Member States, and partners. By diversifying funding sources and securing predictable, sustainable resources, the position directly contributes to strengthening IOM's core institutional capacities and activities, enabling the organization to deliver on its mandate as the UN migration agency and maintain essential oversight functions. The role is instrumental in positioning IOM as a unified, transparent, and strategically aligned partner for donors, fostering trust and accountability, and enhancing IOM's value proposition within the multilateral system.
Responsibilities
The Head leads strategic coordination, integrating the Resilience Campaign into the Global Appeal 2026 fundraising efforts and ensuring its continued implementation. This includes integrating campaign tools and lessons learned into existing Resource Mobilisation Division (RMD) processes and providing strategic guidance for coherent messaging, advocacy, and donor engagement. The role actively manages coordination with the Resilience Task Force and Executive Office to align efforts with institutional priorities. Key duties involve supporting donor and Member State engagement by coordinating the development of tailored pitch materials, talking points, and donor briefs for various stakeholders. The Head coordinates inputs for Director RMD and Leadership Team engagements, oversees logistics for strategic meetings, responds to donor queries, and engages directly with donors when appropriate. For communications and visibility, the role provides strategic oversight for the use of visuals, infographics, and summaries, coordinating with communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and reinforce IOM's value proposition for flexible funding. Additionally, the Head oversees the integration and development of internal trackers for donor pledges, prepares regular updates for senior management on progress and risks, and compiles a final handover report summarizing outcomes and recommendations.
Work Experience
Progressively responsible experience in donor relations, strategic planning, or organizational change management is required, preferably within the UN system or IOM. Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating cross-functional initiatives or funding campaigns is essential. Candidates must possess strong political acumen, communication skills, and the ability to deliver under pressure. Familiarity with IOM’s structure, funding model, and institutional reform agenda is considered an asset.
