Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Guinea has collaborated with the government and partners since 2003 on various projects supporting key areas like poverty reduction, youth employment, and migrant protection. Since September 2022, IOM has been implementing the fourth phase of the EU-funded "Programme for the Protection, Return and Reintegration of Migrants in Sub-Saharan Africa" (MPRR-SSA). This role supports the Information Management and Monitoring & Evaluation unit to enhance data collection and analysis for the MPRR program.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support the Information Management and Monitoring & Evaluation unit within the IOM Guinea office, specifically contributing to the "Programme for the Protection, Return and Reintegration of Migrants in Sub-Saharan Africa" (MPRR-SSA). The incumbent will assist in collecting, cleaning, and preparing data for analysis, ensuring its accuracy and readiness for reporting. This position plays a crucial part in strengthening the unit's capacity to manage and analyze program-related data, thereby supporting the overall objectives of protecting vulnerable migrants, facilitating voluntary return, and promoting sustainable reintegration. The role involves administrative support and ensuring harmonized data management practices across different locations.
Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of MPRR project activities within the Information Management and M&E unit. Support data collection by completing pre-established questionnaires for the MPRR project, adhering to institutional guidelines. Clean collected data to ensure it is ready for analysis. Provide administrative support for the Information Management and Reintegration units in Conakry and regional offices. Liaise between the Conakry office and sub-offices on data-related matters to ensure a consistent and harmonized approach to data management, following institutional standards. Report on activities related to data collection, compilation, and cleaning to the supervisor. Participate in training sessions and program coordination meetings. Perform any other related tasks assigned by management.
Work Experience
Experience in data management. Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau Desktop. Experience using Excel and Kobo for data-related tasks.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of the broad range of migration-related issues addressed by the Organization. Proficiency in French (oral and written) is required. Knowledge of English and a local Guinean language is an asset.
