Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with the European Union and the Guinean government, implements a program to assist returning migrants. This initiative, in its latest phase (MPRR), focuses on protection, return, and reintegration across six regions in Guinea, targeting approximately 8,821 migrants. The program also aims to improve migration data reliability and strengthen the capacity of migration governance structures.
Job Purpose
The Field Reintegration Assistant will support the field coordination of reintegration activities and community mobilization within the project's target areas. This role involves assisting beneficiaries and external partners, liaising with governmental and civil society stakeholders at the local level, and contributing to the overall success of the reintegration program. The position is crucial for ensuring effective implementation of project activities, providing direct support to returning migrants, and facilitating their social, psychosocial, and economic reintegration into their communities. The assistant will play a key role in bridging communication between the project, beneficiaries, and local authorities.
Responsibilities
Implement reintegration, awareness, and data collection activities in close collaboration with local authorities, civil society, and partners. Serve as the IOM focal point for beneficiaries, supporting their reintegration projects and facilitating local NGO capacity-building. Organize community meetings and awareness campaigns, maintaining effective communication and coordination with local actors. Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of reintegration activities, including profiling, payment, and distribution of equipment to beneficiaries. Support the development of reintegration plans and ensure timely reporting to project management. Participate in the reception and profiling of returning migrants and manage the documentation and archiving of reintegration-related files. Alert project management to any significant challenges encountered during project implementation.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of documented successful experience in similar roles is required.
Skills
Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Excel and Word. SAP proficiency is an asset. Fluency in French (oral and written) is mandatory. Knowledge of English and a local Guinean language is desirable.
