Job Purpose
This role supports the Programme Development, Strategy, and Support Unit (PDSSU) in Ankara, focusing on enhancing programme development and donor liaison efforts within IOM Türkiye's extensive migration management portfolio. The incumbent will facilitate procedures related to partnership strategies, project proposal development, and reporting to donors. Key areas include assisted voluntary return, support for vulnerable migrants, border governance, labour migration, integration, migration health, and environmental aspects of migration. The position contributes to securing resources and ensuring the quality and relevance of project outputs for external audiences, aligning with IOM's mission to support people on the move and drive solutions to displacement.
Responsibilities
The Senior Programme Support Associate will support project development by maintaining donor contact and preparing proposals, concept notes, and agreements. Responsibilities include coordinating and contributing to timely donor reports (monthly, interim, final) and other mission reports. The role involves contributing to and coordinating mission and programme strategies, researching and drafting necessary documents for project development and donor liaison, and maintaining contact with potential donors. The associate will liaise with relevant authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and stakeholders, particularly Government of Türkiye focal points, to ensure proactive coordination. Tasks also include participating in the PDSSU Work Plan, updating project data in IOM portals, and providing support for high-quality project proposals and concept notes. Additionally, the role involves assisting in coordinating relationships with key partners, providing technical support for donor consultations, updating donor intelligence, identifying resource mobilization opportunities, and guiding staff on project development and reporting, including adapting training for local partners.
Work Experience
Required experience includes an excellent command of English with proven ability in working, editing, and writing documents in English. Demonstrated experience in resource mobilization or project development is essential. Experience in technical writing and editing, preferably within the international development/humanitarian sector, is highly desirable, as is working knowledge of donor liaison and project development. Experience in designing and facilitating training/educational events is also beneficial.
