Job Purpose
The Project Associate (LMI) will support and coordinate the achievement of project objectives and the day-to-day implementation of activities under the ‘Provision of Jobs and Socio-Economic Inclusion to Support Transition to Formal Employment in Türkiye’ project. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful delivery of project outcomes related to labor migration and social inclusion. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator in Ankara, contributing to IOM's mission of promoting orderly migration and supporting vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Labour Migration and Social Inclusion (LMI) project activities. Retrieve, compile, analyze, and present project-related data. Monitor project budgets, verify fund availability, and obtain necessary approvals. Serve as a focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with internal units and external parties. Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, and other project documentation. Respond to information requests, maintain project files, and organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions. Participate in meetings and assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders. Monitor implementing partners and report non-compliance. Provide guidance to junior staff and perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Experience is required in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable groups is also necessary. Prior work experience in a multicultural setting with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions is advantageous.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of migration-related subject areas. Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming. Knowledge of financial rules and regulations. Fluency in English and Turkish is required.
