Job Purpose
The Human Resources Associate in IOM Armenia, Yerevan, plays a crucial role in managing the country office's resource management functions. Under the supervision of the Head of Office and the National Head of Resource Management Unit, this position ensures the effective and efficient administration of human resources. The role contributes to IOM's mission by supporting staff, facilitating recruitment, managing HR data, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures. This ensures that IOM can effectively deliver on its mandate to promote humane migration and support people on the move.
Responsibilities
The Human Resources Associate is responsible for coordinating recruitment processes, including drafting vacancy notices, screening applications, and participating in interviews. They manage pre-employment activities, such as preparing documentation, coordinating medical exams, and facilitating staff induction. The role involves performing HR system functions, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining personnel records. Additionally, the Associate acts as a Timekeeper, managing leave administration and generating reports. They prepare documentation for various HR actions like separations and promotions, and coordinate with regional and headquarters offices. The position also involves preparing HR reports, drafting correspondence, maintaining personnel files, and assisting with performance evaluation compliance. Furthermore, the Associate organizes HR events, provides guidance to staff on entitlements, and supports inter-agency HR initiatives.
Work Experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential. Previous experience with SAP is advantageous. Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental, or governmental institutions in a multicultural setting is also beneficial. Key attributes include attention to detail, methodical organization, discretion, and a willingness to learn.
Skills
Sound knowledge of HR principles, practices, and administrative processes. Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. Strong drafting skills for reports and correspondence. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain discretion with confidential information. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
