Supply Chain Intern

Job Purpose
This internship aims to attract talented students and graduates interested in migration-related fields. The intern will provide administrative and operational support to the Regional Supply Chain Unit in Cairo, Egypt, serving the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This role offers hands-on experience in supply chain and procurement processes, including quotations, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and other related activities, contributing to the efficient functioning of IOM's regional and country offices.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist in collecting quotations, preparing comparison tables, and supporting basic evaluation steps. Responsibilities include helping to prepare Request for Quotations (RFQs) and Purchase Requisitions (PRs) under supervision, and supporting the preparation and follow-up of Purchase Orders (POs) and service contracts. The role involves maintaining procurement files and tracking sheets, supporting compliance checks, and coordinating logistical arrangements for meetings and travel. Additionally, the intern will assist in monitoring basic logistics needs, collecting delivery documents, updating vendor information, supporting asset tagging and verification, and updating inventory databases. Tasks also include conducting physical checks of items and performing other assigned administrative or supply chain duties.
Work Experience
Less than two years of relevant working experience is required. Previous experience in supply chain, procurement, business administration, or related fields is beneficial. Experience in administrative tasks and working in a multicultural or international environment is an advantage.
Skills
Strong verbal and written communication, ability to draft professional documents, active listening, data analysis, task prioritization, attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), ability to manage virtual meeting platforms, collaboration skills, strong people skills, and professionalism in a diverse, international environment.
