IOM Lebanon, established in 2006, delivers life-saving humanitarian services to vulnerable populations affected by crises, fostering recovery and development. The Country Office implements activities across Lebanon, supporting Site Management and Coordination (SMC) interventions to improve living conditions in displacement sites. This role supports shelter and site management technical teams.
Job Purpose
This position provides crucial support to IOM Lebanon's Site Management and Coordination (SMC) efforts, aimed at enhancing living conditions and service delivery for populations in displacement sites. Working under the supervision of the Head of Programs and Senior Program Associate (Shelter), the role is integral to the successful implementation of shelter and site management activities. The purpose is to ensure effective coordination and execution of projects that contribute to humanitarian relief and longer-term recovery, aligning with IOM's mandate to assist vulnerable populations and develop sustainable solutions in crisis-affected areas.
Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of shelter and site management activities, ensuring compliance with IOM processes and partnership agreements. This includes supporting the drafting of agreements, managing purchase requests, and handling administrative tasks for project execution. Compile, summarize, and present program data, including achievements and expense validation. Provide administrative and logistical support for capacity-building activities, workshops, and in-kind assistance. Draft status reports, highlighting delivery shortfalls to the supervisor. Manage routine correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and other documentation, following up on pending actions. Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under time constraints.
Work Experience
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups. Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations or institutions in a multicultural setting is advantageous. Knowledge of the Lebanese migration context is beneficial.
