Organizational Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in India seeks a Karnataka State Coordinator to provide technical and administrative support for implementing worker resource centers. This role operates under the supervision of the Head of Office and National Project Officer, with guidance from the Senior Project Assistant, focusing on enhancing migrant worker support services in Karnataka.

Job Purpose

The Karnataka State Coordinator will be instrumental in the successful implementation and operation of worker resource centers within the state. This role involves providing comprehensive technical and administrative support, ensuring effective engagement with migrant workers and targeted communities. The coordinator will facilitate the establishment and functioning of mobile resource centers, acting as a key liaison between IOM and implementing partners. A primary objective is to develop and execute robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks, analyze project effectiveness, and generate insightful reports to drive continuous improvement in service delivery and project outreach, ultimately strengthening the project's impact in the region.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include engaging migrant workers and communities, supporting the establishment and operation of mobile worker resource centers, and serving as the primary liaison with implementing partners. The role involves developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, preparing regular reports, and conducting field visits to oversee service delivery and gather feedback. Coordination of logistics for field activities, prompt resolution of operational issues, and building relationships with stakeholders are crucial. The coordinator will assist in project planning, monitor timelines and budgets, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with policies. Additionally, staying informed on industry trends, strengthening project outreach, creating spreadsheets for metric tracking, and developing data visualizations are essential duties.

Work Experience

Required experience includes monitoring and evaluation, understanding management principles, assessing monitoring improvement plans from labor and human rights assessments, and drafting status reports. Experience working with government counterparts, UN agencies, or NGOs is considered an asset.

Skills

Proficiency in quantitative business analysis, strong attention to detail, and accuracy are essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Willingness to travel frequently for fieldwork is necessary.
