Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Honduras seeks a Project Associate for Labour Mobility and Inclusion (LMI). This role operates under the Chief of Mission and National Program Officer, directly supervised by the National Labour Mobility and Inclusion Officer. The associate will coordinate with country units to support project execution.
Job Purpose
The Project Associate LMI is responsible for assisting the Labour Mobility and Inclusion unit in the execution of ongoing project activities within IOM Honduras. This involves providing crucial support to ensure the smooth implementation and monitoring of projects related to labour mobility and inclusion. The role contributes to the overall objectives of the unit by facilitating administrative processes, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring that project activities are carried out effectively and efficiently. The associate's efforts directly support the unit's mandate in advancing IOM's mission in Honduras through diligent project assistance and coordination.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate LMI will assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, including retrieving, compiling, and analyzing project-related information. Responsibilities include monitoring budgets, verifying fund availability, and obtaining necessary approvals. The role serves as a focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with internal units and external parties to manage requests and follow up on actions. This includes drafting status reports, correspondence, and other project documentation such as briefing notes and presentations. The associate will respond to information requests, maintain records, and organize meetings and workshops. Additionally, they will participate in meetings, coordinate implementation activities with local authorities and partners, and assist in monitoring implementing partners and tracking beneficiaries. Logistical support for activities and other assigned duties are also part of the role.
Work Experience
Three to five years of relevant professional experience is required, depending on the educational background. Experience should align with the fields of study or general project support, particularly within international organizations or development projects.
