This Cleaner role is based in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, under the supervision of the Resources Management Unit, supporting the office's effective functioning.
Job Purpose
The Cleaner's primary purpose is to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation within the IOM office premises in Chisinau. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe, healthy, and conducive working environment for all staff and visitors. By performing daily cleaning services for offices, sanitary facilities, meeting rooms, and surrounding areas, the incumbent directly contributes to the overall operational efficiency and well-being of the IOM mission. The role supports the Resources Management Unit in the upkeep of office facilities, adhering to IOM standards and local health and safety regulations, thereby facilitating the organization's mandate.
Responsibilities
The Cleaner is responsible for a range of daily and weekly cleaning duties. Daily tasks include emptying waste bins, dusting and cleaning office spaces, IT equipment (as specified), meeting rooms, bathrooms (disinfecting, replenishing supplies), and kitchens (cleaning appliances, washing meeting-use dishes). Corridors require floor washing and carpet cleaning, while outdoor steps and ramps need sweeping and cleaning. The incumbent must also report any equipment malfunctions. Weekly duties involve cleaning coolers, polishing kitchen cupboards, and cleaning refrigerators and other kitchen appliances. The role also includes basement cleaning and any other assigned tasks within the incumbent's capabilities, ensuring overall office hygiene and maintenance.
Work Experience
Prior work experience within international humanitarian organizations, non-government, or government institutions in a multicultural setting is considered an advantage.
