The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN-related organization, is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration. Within the "Helios+" project in Thessaly, Greece, IOM collaborates with authorities and partners to integrate third-country nationals into the labor market and society. This role supports activities for employability, language training, and independent living.
Job Purpose
This role is crucial for facilitating the integration of beneficiaries of international and temporary protection into Greek society. The Integration Facilitator will support their transition to independent living and the labor market through various project activities. This includes providing essential information, monitoring progress, organizing support sessions, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure beneficiaries' needs are met. The position contributes to the overall goal of promoting social cohesion and inclusion for vulnerable populations within the framework of the "Helios+" project, aiming to enhance their self-sufficiency and successful integration into their new environment.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include informing and enrolling eligible beneficiaries in the project, monitoring their integration progress through individual sessions, and conducting presentations on the European Way of Life. The role involves organizing psychosocial support sessions and providing beneficiaries with information on social welfare rights, housing, healthcare, and education. Referrals to specialized support services will be made as needed. Coordination with other project units, external actors, and authorities is essential to meet beneficiary needs. The facilitator will evaluate exemption requests for language courses, ensure accurate data entry, and maintain physical records. Additionally, they will assist beneficiaries with apartment searches and related administrative requirements, performing verification actions as necessary.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of previous work experience is required. For Social Workers and Psychologists, a professional license is mandatory. Experience working in a multicultural environment is preferred.
Skills
Proficiency in computer literacy with standard software applications. Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles. A valid driver's license with at least five years of driving experience is an advantage.
