Job Purpose

This internship aims to attract talented students and graduates with a specific interest in migration, whose studies have covered areas relevant to IOM's programmes and activities. The programme seeks individuals enrolled in their final year of a university degree (minimum Bachelor's level) or who have graduated within the last 12 months, and are between 20 and 36 years old with less than two years of relevant working experience. Interns are expected to contribute to IOM's mission by supporting various projects and gaining practical experience in the field of migration management and assistance.

Responsibilities

The intern will provide monitoring support for IOM Gambia's "Migrant Protection Return and Reintegration for Sub-Saharan Africa (MPRR-SSA)" initiative, focusing on migration governance, data management, and M&E. Key duties include supporting direct assistance, reintegration, and awareness-raising activities; assisting in the development of M&E tools; reviewing AVRR program business plans and identifying discrepancies; conducting field visits to assess reintegration impact; documenting and filing beneficiary data in a database; preparing monthly monitoring reports; and supporting the assessment of project impacts. The intern will also assist with data cleaning and the preparation of M&E reports, ensuring consideration of disaggregated data.
