Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Bangladesh seeks a Site Management Field Assistant in Cox's Bazar. This role operates under the direct supervision of the National Operations Officer/Site Management Operation Officer and overall supervision of the SMSD PM, supporting the program unit in its operations.
Job Purpose
The Site Management Field Assistant will support the IOM program unit in Cox's Bazar by organizing field team activities to promote inclusive participation in site-level activities, with a focus on vulnerable groups. The role involves supporting capacity building plans for refugees, facilitating community-led initiatives, and maintaining records of community structures. Additionally, the assistant will help foster relationships between service providers, authorities, and refugee governance structures, assist in site assessments, and monitor service provision challenges. The position also requires staying informed about service provision, attending coordination meetings, and ensuring the availability of support materials for program engagement.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include organizing field activities to ensure participation of all refugee sub-groups, particularly women, girls, and people with disabilities. The role involves supporting the design of refugee capacity-building plans and facilitating community-led initiatives. Maintaining up-to-date records of community groups and leaders is crucial. The assistant will help manage relationships between service providers, authorities, and refugee governance structures, and support site assessments while reporting service provision challenges. Monitoring Women Participation Program (WPP) issues, anticipating implementation constraints, and proposing solutions are also key duties. The role requires staying informed about humanitarian partner services, attending coordination meetings, and relaying information effectively. Ensuring support materials are available and coordinating to cover gaps, controlling data quality, and preparing preliminary analyses are also part of the role. Promoting safety and security procedures and preparing relevant finance and procurement documents are also expected.
Work Experience
Experience in project management or a related field is beneficial. Knowledge and training in team management are desirable. The ability to work with minimal supervision is essential. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
