Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The Field Operations Assistant (LPG) will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of the IOM's LPG program, encompassing data collection, beneficiary distribution, community mobilization, and fire safety awareness. This includes providing technical guidance to households on the safe use of LPG equipment and conducting follow-up on cash-for-work activities. The role involves supporting needs and gap assessments, disseminating crucial LPG-related messages, and ensuring effective crowd control and security during activities. Additionally, the assistant will collect best practices through surveys and interviews, maintain project records, and compile necessary documentation for program implementation. Coordination with camp stakeholders, including Site Management, Development, Protection, WASH actors, and government entities, is also a key responsibility. The role further supports the organization of field meetings and training sessions for staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries, while ensuring strict adherence to IOM's Code of Conduct and PSEA principles.
Work Experience
Required experience includes humanitarian response programming, needs assessment, data collection, reporting, and monitoring. Experience in distribution, training, community mobilization, and sensitization is advantageous. Prior work with international humanitarian organizations, NGOs, or government institutions in a multicultural setting, as well as previous experience with LPG operations in a humanitarian context, are also considered advantageous.
Skills
Proficiency in distribution, community mobilization, and sensitization activities. Knowledge of training methodologies for distribution, mobilization, DRR, fire safety, and safe cooking measures. Ability to provide technical guidance and follow-up. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with IT gadgets, KOBO, and the Global Distribution Tool (GDT) platform is required.
