Job Purpose
The Senior Project Associate (Humanitarian Protection) supports the operational implementation of Emergency Case Management (ECM) and outreach activities within IOM's humanitarian protection programming in Türkiye. This involves day-to-day management of ECM processes, including supervision of Project Associates, case assignment, follow-up, and referral coordination. The role ensures timely and quality service delivery in line with IOM protection standards, contributing to the identification and referral of vulnerable individuals, including GBV survivors and trafficking victims, to appropriate specialized services. The position also supports capacity-building initiatives and coordination with stakeholders to enhance protection service delivery.
Responsibilities
Support the coordination and implementation of protection activities, including Emergency Case Management (ECM) and outreach, monitoring progress, and proposing adjustments. Research, compile, and analyze information on protection developments. Monitor budget expenditures and coordinate project financial and administrative processes. Oversee ECM processes, ensuring quality control from identification to case closure, and facilitate referrals for vulnerable individuals. Coordinate outreach activities to raise awareness and facilitate access to services, maintaining coordination with partners. Plan and support capacity-building workshops. Liaise with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, NGOs, and donors. Prepare correspondence, reports, and operational documents. Document best practices and contribute to SOP development. Supervise and guide reporting staff, ensuring adherence to protection principles and standards.
Work Experience
Experience in humanitarian protection programming, including case management and service delivery. Demonstrated experience implementing case management systems, supervising staff, and applying protection principles. Experience with vulnerable populations (migrants, refugees, GBV survivors, UASC, VoTs) and supporting GBV programming. Project implementation experience, including monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. Experience liaising with government, UN agencies, and NGOs. Capacity building experience is also required. Experience in emergency settings or data management is an asset.
Skills
Strong knowledge of protection principles (do no harm, confidentiality, informed consent, survivor-centred approaches) and case management processes. Ability to supervise and provide technical guidance. Understanding of referral pathways and humanitarian coordination mechanisms. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in report preparation and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with case management systems is an asset.
