Organizational Context

Job Purpose
The Senior Project Associate will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the ELEVATE Africa project in Guinea under the direct supervision of the Project Manager. This project focuses on strengthening local economies, increasing community resilience through tailored solutions, and empowering marginalized groups for socio-economic inclusion and conflict prevention. The role contributes to improving livelihoods, resilience, local economic infrastructure, and income-generating capacities by offering short-term employment and sustainable livelihood solutions to vulnerable populations, including displaced persons, in a conflict-sensitive manner. The position builds on previous IOM initiatives in West Africa related to youth employment, local economic development, and migration dynamics.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring project activities. Liaise with government officers for activity coordination. Compile, analyze, and present project data, highlighting key issues. Serve as a focal point for administrative coordination, managing requests and clearances. Draft status reports, identify delivery shortfalls, and suggest corrective actions. Prepare correspondence, reports, briefing notes, and other documentation. Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions, including material preparation and delivery. Respond to information requests and maintain project files. Participate in meetings and conferences, coordinating with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders. Monitor implementing partners' compliance and report any issues. Provide input for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and concept papers. Assist in coordinating and monitoring the work of other staff, potentially supervising assigned personnel.
Work Experience
Experience in project management, labor laws, labor migration, and diaspora engagement policies is required. Experience with international organizations, migration governance, and liaising with governmental authorities and international institutions is advantageous. Prior work in a multicultural setting with humanitarian organizations is beneficial.
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Capacity building and training facilitation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
