Job Purpose
This internship role supports the logistics unit in the Ankara Office under the supervision of the National Supply Chain Officer and Supply Chain Associate. The incumbent will assist with various supply chain and logistics functions, contributing to the efficient operation of IOM's programs. The internship is designed to provide practical experience and learning opportunities in areas relevant to IOM's work, aligning with the organization's commitment to fostering professional growth for talented students and graduates interested in migration and humanitarian assistance. The role is crucial for maintaining the smooth flow of goods and services essential for IOM's operations.
Responsibilities
The intern will be responsible for managing and updating the archiving system for procurement and logistics documents, ensuring proper labeling and organization. This includes ensuring all procurement files are accurately documented and systematically filed, along with contracts and Long-Term Agreements (LTAs). The role involves preparing essential procurement and logistics documents, such as Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Requests for Proposals (RfPs). Additionally, the intern will ensure that Goods Receipt Notes are acknowledged upon delivery of services or goods and will prepare and follow up on payment requests with the Finance Unit to ensure timely vendor settlements. The intern will also perform other assigned duties as required.
Work Experience
Interns should have less than two years of relevant working experience. This internship is designed for individuals early in their careers, focusing on providing foundational experience in supply chain and logistics within an international organization.
Skills
Proficiency in English and Turkish is required. Competencies include teamwork, delivering results, managing and sharing knowledge, accountability, and communication. Values such as inclusion, respect for diversity, integrity, transparency, professionalism, courage, and empathy are also essential.
