Organizational Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN-related agency since 1951, facilitates humane and orderly migration. This role operates within the 'Helios+' project in East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece, aiming to integrate third-country nationals into the labor market through employability support, language courses, vocational training, and social cohesion activities.

Job Purpose

This role supports the integration of beneficiaries of international and temporary protection into Greek society within the 'Helios+' project. The position contributes to employability support, language and vocational training, independent living assistance, and social inclusion initiatives. Working under the supervision of the National Project Officer and Regional Coordinator, the incumbent will foster collaboration with national and local authorities and partners to ensure the effective implementation of project activities and promote the social integration of beneficiaries.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include fostering communication and coordination within the region, building and maintaining relationships with regional stakeholders, and supporting coordination with external actors for smooth project implementation. The role involves representing IOM and the project in regional forums, identifying challenges and opportunities for beneficiary integration, and supporting the development of regional policies. Additionally, the position will support regional working groups, maintain communication with regional authorities to disseminate information and promote service access, and ensure strong working relationships with chambers and regional associations.

Work Experience

Previous work experience in a similar role is required. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is preferred.

Skills

Proficiency in standard software applications, strong work ethics, commitment to humanitarian principles, and a valid driver's license with at least five years of driving experience are advantageous.
