Responsibilities
The Project Officer will manage the operational, administrative, and financial aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements. Key duties include monitoring project implementation, identifying gaps, and proposing improvements. The role involves contributing to work plan and budget development, creating Monitoring & Evaluation tools, and coordinating data collection and analysis. Reporting is a critical function, requiring timely preparation and dissemination of project reports. The officer will also coordinate communication efforts, including awareness materials and press releases. Stakeholder engagement is essential, involving liaison with donors, partners, UN agencies, and government counterparts. Furthermore, the role includes planning and delivering capacity-building activities, supervising project staff, and undertaking duty travel for project oversight and assessments.
Work Experience
Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and victims of trafficking is essential. Prior experience with international humanitarian organizations or governmental/non-governmental institutions in a multicultural setting is considered an advantage.
