Job Purpose
The Senior Treasury Associate, reporting to the National Resources Management Officer, supports the implementation of treasury functions for the IOM Country Office in Jakarta. This role ensures compliance with IOM financial rules, procedures, internal controls, and donor requirements. The position is crucial for supporting the effective financial operations of various programmes and projects within the mission. The Associate will contribute to maintaining high-quality, effective, and efficient resource management, directly impacting the operational capacity and success of IOM's activities in Indonesia.
Responsibilities
The Senior Treasury Associate is responsible for verifying payment requests, invoices, and receipts for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with centralized payment procedures. They will manage daily treasury operations, including cash management, bank account monitoring, and processing payments to staff, vendors, and partners. Key duties include preparing cash flow forecasts, supporting monthly funding requests, and contributing to the timely closure of financial accounts. The role involves verifying Travel Expense Claims, maintaining records of salary deductions, and updating bank signatory information. Additionally, the Associate will provide training and technical support on treasury and payment procedures, supervise the review of Implementing Partner expenditures, and support the reconciliation and recovery of VAT receivables. They will act as a focal point for treasury coordination, support Cash-Based Interventions (CBI) administrative and financial aspects, and maintain an efficient filing system for financial and banking documents.
Work Experience
Required experience includes financial administration with a focus on accounting and treasury, using an Enterprise Resource Planning system, and liaising with banks on operational treasury matters. Experience supporting cash programming in humanitarian contexts, project management, and working with databases is also necessary. Prior experience in international humanitarian organizations or a multicultural setting is advantageous.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications is essential. The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain composure under pressure. Knowledge of CBI fundamentals and innovative humanitarian systems is beneficial. Familiarity with Accountability to Affected Populations principles and Sphere standards is an advantage.
