Organizational Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN agency, promotes humane and orderly migration. Since 2022, in partnership with the EU and the Malian government, IOM implements a program in Mali to assist migrants with protection, return, and reintegration, focusing on those stranded along the Mediterranean route. The program also aims to improve migration data access and strengthen migration governance.

Job Purpose

The Assistant de Terrain Réintégration role supports the implementation of reintegration activities for migrants in Bamako and other regions of Mali. Working under the supervision of the EU MPRR Programme Manager and the National Reintegration Officer, the incumbent will assist in the reintegration process, providing support and follow-up to beneficiaries. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful return and reintegration of migrants, contributing to the overall objectives of the IOM's migration assistance program in Mali.

Responsibilities

The Assistant de Terrain Réintégration will be responsible for the operational implementation of activities related to migrant orientation, reintegration, awareness-raising, and data collection. This includes close coordination with relevant units and partners, assessing migrants' specific needs, and referring them to specialized protection services. The role involves developing reintegration plans, managing the procurement and distribution of reintegration kits, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to beneficiaries. Additionally, the incumbent will monitor reintegration progress, maintain daily updates in the Mimosa database, and ensure compliance with IOM procedures for service provision and procurement. The position may also require interpretation/translation services and other assigned tasks.

Work Experience

The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Previous experience with WAVE is advantageous. Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, institutions, or governmental bodies in a multicultural setting is considered a plus.
