Job Purpose
This Project Assistant (Operations) role is crucial for the successful implementation of the 'Helios+' project in Central Macedonia, Greece. The primary purpose is to support the integration of beneficiaries of international and temporary protection into Greek society. This involves contributing to activities focused on employability, language acquisition, vocational training, and independent living support. The role directly impacts the project's ability to achieve its goals of promoting social cohesion and inclusion for migrants, by ensuring smooth operational and administrative processes. The position supports senior management in monitoring project progress and resource utilization, thereby contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of IOM's migration management efforts in the region.
Responsibilities
The Project Assistant (Operations) will oversee the assigned project team, ensuring efficient coordination and task delivery. Key duties include managing the project's helpline, ensuring message accuracy, and developing monitoring tools. The role involves performing general administrative tasks to support project implementation, adhering to IOM's standard procedures. This includes developing and implementing methodologies, tools, and standard operating procedures for administrative processes. The assistant will support the flow of project documents and deliverables, assist senior management in budget monitoring, and prepare analysis and reports for resource utilization and audits. Data verification, safekeeping, and maintaining project archives are also essential functions. The role may also involve other assigned duties to support project objectives.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of previous work experience is required. Experience working in a multicultural environment is preferred.
Skills
Proficiency in standard software applications is necessary. The candidate should possess strong work ethics and a commitment to humanitarian principles. A valid driver's license with at least five years of driving experience is considered an advantage.
