Organizational Context

This role, under the Chief of Mission in IOM UK, is responsible for managing the human resources functions within the UK mission.
Job Purpose
The Senior Human Resources Associate is accountable for managing the human resources functions within the IOM UK mission. This involves overseeing recruitment processes, coordinating pre-employment activities, and ensuring the accurate maintenance of HR system data. The role also includes managing attendance and leave, processing various HR actions, and preparing personnel reports. Additionally, the position supports compliance with performance evaluations and mandatory training, coordinates HR events, and provides guidance to staff on entitlements and procedures. The associate will also contribute to identifying areas for HR improvement and may train junior staff.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include managing recruitment processes from initial needs assessment to offer generation, including screening, shortlisting, and interviewing candidates. The role involves coordinating pre-employment activities such as onboarding documentation, medical clearances, and induction sessions. Maintaining accurate HR system data, verifying entitlements, and monitoring contractual situations are crucial. The associate will administer attendance and leave, process personnel actions like separations and promotions, and ensure timely reporting. Archiving HR documents, monitoring performance evaluations and mandatory training compliance, and coordinating HR development activities are also key duties. Providing information and guidance to staff on HR matters, identifying process improvements, and potentially training junior staff are also expected.
Work Experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential. Previous experience with SAP is advantageous. Experience in organizing paperwork methodically, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are important. Prior work experience in international humanitarian organizations or multi-cultural settings is considered an advantage.
