Job Purpose
The Programme Support Intern will support the implementation and coordination of programme activities within IOM Comoros, under the supervision of the Head of Office and relevant Project Officers. This internship is designed to provide practical experience in programme implementation, coordination, reporting, and administrative support within a United Nations framework. The role contributes to IOM's mission of promoting humane and orderly migration by assisting in the execution of its programmes and operations in Comoros, offering valuable learning opportunities for the intern in a multicultural international setting.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the implementation and coordination of programme activities for IOM Comoros. Key duties include assisting with programme implementation and coordination, drafting reports and meeting minutes, and preparing presentations. The role involves gaining exposure to project monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. Additionally, the intern will help strengthen organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, and develop an understanding of migration and development programming within the Comoros context. The intern will also participate in meetings, workshops, and programme activities, and access online training resources.
Work Experience
Previous internship, volunteer, or academic experience related to programme support, administration, humanitarian, or development work is considered an advantage.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
