Job Purpose
This role is crucial for assisting in the effective implementation and reporting of the Danish resettlement quota program and other vital projects managed by IOM Denmark. The Project Associate will support various stages of resettlement movements, from processing beneficiaries and coordinating logistics to providing on-the-ground assistance. By ensuring smooth operations and accurate reporting, the position contributes directly to IOM's mission of promoting orderly migration and providing essential services to migrants and governments. The role also involves administrative tasks, data management, and supporting project development, all under the direct supervision of the Chief of Mission.
Responsibilities
Key duties include assisting with resettlement movements from countries of departure to Denmark, processing beneficiaries, and coordinating administrative tasks and logistics with IOM offices and partners. This involves managing registration, following up on selection missions, health assessments, and Pre-Departure Orientation. The role supports the arrangement of international travel, reception, and handover of refugees. Responsibilities also encompass monitoring and registering program results in organizational databases, providing updates to partners, and offering departure, transit, and arrival assistance. Administrative tasks, maintaining files, and providing logistical support for other movement operations are essential. The position contributes to developing Standard Operating Procedures, donor reports, and project proposals, while also assisting with the implementation and reporting of other IOM Denmark projects as needed.
Work Experience
Knowledge of IOM resettlement operations and prior experience with IOM airport assistance are advantageous. Relevant experience supporting migration-related activities is also considered a plus.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience in intercultural settings is advantageous. Good teamwork skills.
