Job Purpose
The Internship Programme at IOM seeks to engage talented students and graduates with a specific interest in or academic background relevant to IOM's programmes and activities. Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Head of Office and Operations Officer, the Operations Assistant (Intern) will provide essential support to IOM Paris operations. Key duties include assisting and guiding migrants arriving at CDG airport through border control, customs, and security checks, and facilitating their onward journey. This involves supporting beneficiaries of the French resettlement program, ensuring smooth transitions with NGOs, bus companies, or train services. The intern will also be responsible for purchasing food and drinks for migrants as needed and instructed. Additionally, the role may involve undertaking other tasks assigned by the Head of Office to support the smooth functioning of IOM Paris.
Work Experience
While direct experience assisting migrants is an asset, it is not mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) is a required skill for this role. Interns should generally have less than two years of relevant working experience.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Fluency in French and English is required. Ability to provide assistance and guidance to migrants. Interpersonal and communication skills.
