Outreach Associate, Integration
Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN-related agency established in 1951, promotes humane and orderly migration. This role supports Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTP’s) in Ireland, operating within Designated Accommodation settings. The position reports to the Senior Outreach Associate, contributing to essential project support and direct assistance to BOTP’s.
Job Purpose
This role is designed to provide crucial support to Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTP’s) in Ireland, specifically within Designated Accommodation settings. The primary purpose is to assist BOTP’s by delivering orientation sessions, providing essential information, and offering one-to-one support. The position contributes to the successful implementation of IOM's mandate to promote humane and orderly migration by ensuring that vulnerable individuals receive the necessary guidance and assistance to navigate their situation in Ireland. The role involves direct engagement with beneficiaries and coordination with various stakeholders to facilitate program delivery and address support requirements effectively.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, retrieving, compiling, and analyzing project-related data. The role involves supporting the Senior Outreach Associate in developing and executing outreach and information provision strategies. This includes delivering information sessions to BOTP’s in accommodation settings, coordinating visits with focal points, and disseminating accurate information. The Associate will identify and refer vulnerable cases, provide translation/interpretation as needed, and draft status reports and correspondence. Responsibilities also encompass responding to information requests, maintaining records, organizing meetings, and participating in relevant events. Collaboration with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders is essential, as is monitoring implementing partners and providing guidance to junior staff.
Work Experience
Required experience includes disseminating information to large audiences in diverse settings and working with vulnerable groups such as migrants and refugees. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential. Prior experience with international humanitarian organizations or in a multicultural setting is advantageous.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of migration-related subjects. Strong presentation and clear communication skills. A valid, clean driving license and access to a personal vehicle are required.
