Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), established in 1951, is a UN-related organization dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration. This role supports the Supply Chain Unit in Lebanon, focusing on warehouse and inventory management. The position operates under the supervision of the Head of Resources Management and the Senior Supply Chain Associate.
Job Purpose
This role is designed to establish a pool of pre-qualified candidates for future warehouse and inventory management opportunities within IOM's Supply Chain Unit in Lebanon. The incumbent will provide essential support by assisting with the receiving of goods, managing stock movements, maintaining accurate inventory records, and offering general administrative support. The purpose is to ensure efficient and organized warehouse operations, contributing to IOM's mission of promoting orderly migration and providing services to migrants and governments.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting in daily warehouse operations such as receiving goods, updating inventory records in the database, and supporting the dispatch of items. The role involves maintaining accurate stock records, verifying incoming goods against purchase orders, and reporting discrepancies. Responsibilities also include ensuring proper storage and organization of items according to IOM standards, processing stock movements, and preparing necessary documentation like Goods Received Notes. The incumbent will coordinate with end-users for timely delivery, monitor stock levels, conduct physical inventory counts, and maintain a safe and secure warehouse environment. Periodic reporting and other assigned duties are also part of the role.
Work Experience
Required experience includes functions in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain support. Experience in supporting asset management processes is also necessary. Experience working with IOM/UN Procurement and Logistics Rules and Procedures, and experience within an international organization, are considered advantageous.
Skills
Proficiency in computer literacy, including MS Office and data entry systems. Ability to work effectively with national and international institutions. Capability to assist in preparing clear and concise reports. Good communication skills. Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively within a team.
