Job Purpose
This role is designed to provide crucial assistance in the implementation of various projects within the Migrant Protection and Assistance (MPA) Unit. The primary focus will be on supporting Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) initiatives, as well as other movement management activities such as Resettlement and Relocation. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Senior RMM Associate and in coordination with the Head of the MPA Unit. The position contributes to ensuring that migration is managed humanely and orderly, benefiting all stakeholders involved, by facilitating essential services and administrative support for migrants and related projects.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include registering and processing incoming AVRR applications, coordinating pre-departure formalities by liaising with relevant partners and embassies for travel documents, and preparing departure packages. The role involves providing flight bookings, offering in-person assistance to departing migrants at Brussels Airport with check-in and boarding, and assisting migrants at bus meeting points. Additionally, the position supports the reimbursement of grants and costs, manages basic financial records, and prepares necessary cash for expenditures. The role also entails providing transit assistance to beneficiaries at Brussels Airport, assisting arriving migrants with formalities, and reporting any issues encountered during airport duties.
Work Experience
Experience in Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) is required. Proven experience in IOM Movement Operations and working at Brussels Airport is necessary. A valid EU driving license (category B) for manual vehicles is also essential.
Skills
Proficiency in IOM proprietary tools (MiMOSA Web, ATOMS) and the Amadeus Global Distribution System is required. Strong organizational and time-management skills, along with good communication and interpersonal skills, are essential. The ability to work in shifts and irregular hours is also a requirement.
