IOM, the UN Migration Agency, established in 1951, promotes humane and orderly migration. The Kazakhstan office, coordinating for Central Asia, addresses sub-regional migration issues and trends across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. This role contributes to a regional project focused on improving migration governance and services for displaced Afghans.
Job Purpose
This consultancy focuses on the development and delivery of online capacity-building training modules related to migrant assistance and monitoring & evaluation (M&E). The role supports a regional project aimed at enhancing migration governance and access to services for displaced Afghans in Pakistan and Central Asia. The objective is to equip NGOs and stakeholders with essential knowledge and practical tools for effective migrant assistance and robust M&E practices, contributing to improved humanitarian response and long-term sustainable development in the region. The training will be delivered online, utilizing interactive methods to ensure participant engagement and learning.
Responsibilities
The consultant will manage a four-task process. Initially, they will conduct an inception phase, consulting with the project team, reviewing existing materials, and submitting an inception report. Subsequently, they will develop comprehensive online training materials in Russian and English, including trainer guides, participant manuals, slide decks, case studies, job aids, and an M&E toolkit, ensuring interactivity and accessibility. The consultant will then deliver online training sessions to NGOs and stakeholders, employing interactive methods and conducting pre/post assessments. Finally, they will revise modules based on feedback, submit a final report detailing training outcomes, and provide all finalized materials.
Work Experience
Requires proven experience in developing analytical works, preferably in migration-related fields, with at least five years in social research. Experience in international research, including surveying, KIIs, and Focus Groups, is essential. Familiarity with migration and development relationships, advanced skills in drafting research tools, data management, and analysis are necessary. Experience with international organizations is advantageous.
