Organizational Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Supply Chain Associate to support global Master Data Management (MDM) activities. This role, operating within a global framework under the Chief of GSSC Finance and National Supply Chain Officer, provides essential services to IOM offices worldwide. The position requires collaboration across various units and may involve working across different time zones to ensure continuous support.

Job Purpose

The Supply Chain Associate will play a crucial role in supporting central Master Data Management (MDM) activities, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data that underpins IOM's global supply chain operations. This position is vital for providing consistent and reliable services to IOM offices worldwide. By managing and updating master data, liaising with service providers, and offering first-level support, the associate directly contributes to the smooth functioning of procurement processes, vendor onboarding, and timely supplier payments. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and adherence to established procedures to maintain data integrity and support compliance, ultimately facilitating the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include supporting the maintenance and accuracy of master data through validation, review, and system updates. The role involves liaising with outsourced service providers for vendor approvals and assisting IOM offices with vendor onboarding. Quality checks on the service provider's processing of approvals and change requests are essential to ensure compliance and accuracy. The associate will provide first-level support to missions and suppliers, respond to inquiries, and guide users on standard processes. Verification of vendor information and screening results, along with maintaining proper documentation for traceability, are also core duties. Additional tasks include assisting with routine data cleansing, supporting reporting activities by compiling data for reports, updating guidance materials, and collaborating with relevant units to resolve bank-related queries for timely supplier payments.

Work Experience

The role requires experience in data management and client data handling, preferably within procurement or supply chain operations. Demonstrated experience in providing effective customer support is also essential for this position.

Skills

Key skills include strong attention to detail and accuracy, basic knowledge of data management processes, and good communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to follow standard procedures and work effectively in a team is important. Familiarity with ERP or ticketing systems is advantageous. Proficiency in English is required.
