The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN-related agency established in 1951, promotes humane and orderly migration. The consultant will contribute to the MHPSS Unit/Protection Programme and other units within IOM Lebanon.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to support IOM Lebanon's project focused on enhancing mental health and psychosocial well-being in post-conflict settings. The Graphic Designer Consultant will be responsible for designing various project-related materials, including needs assessment reports, project overviews, visibility materials, and information, education, and communication (IEC) content. The role involves creating both electronic and print materials in line with IOM's publication guidelines. The consultant will also develop infographics and illustrations, support local partners with their design needs, and ensure all materials are culturally sensitive and adaptable to the local context, potentially including Arabic translations. The purpose is to visually communicate project activities and outcomes effectively, contributing to peace and community recovery efforts.
Responsibilities
The Graphic Designer Consultant will design assessment reports, programme overviews, and visibility and information, education, and communication (IEC) materials for the IOM MHPSS programme, adhering to IOM publication guidelines. This includes creating reports, booklets, banners, brochures, leaflets, and posters. The consultant will develop infographics and illustrations for programme activities, such as available services and referral pathways. Support will be provided to local partners with their design needs and for visibility materials related to capacity-building initiatives. All designed materials must be culturally sensitive, adaptable to the context, and may require Arabic translation. The role involves close collaboration with project teams, incorporating feedback, making revisions, and delivering editable design files.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of graphic design experience is required, preferably within UN agencies, INGOs, or local NGOs in humanitarian and development contexts. Previous experience publishing IOM products is essential. Proven experience in full graphic production, from concept to print, including knowledge of printing processes and color management, is necessary. Demonstrating at least three previous works with IOM is required. Experience within the UN system is considered an asset.
Skills
Proficiency in design software and technologies (e.g., Adobe Design Premium, In-Design, Illustrator, CorelDraww, Dreamweaver). Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and respect diversity. Capacity for teamwork and independent work. Excellent writing and communication skills.
