Job Purpose
The Project Associate (Health Assistance) will support the implementation of health activities for Rohingya refugees and other vulnerable groups in Indonesia, under the supervision of the Project Officer and in coordination with the Migration Health Unit. The role involves assisting with health assistance processes, tracking provided aid, and ensuring continuity of care. This position contributes to IOM's mission of providing essential services and advice to migrants and governments, particularly in addressing the complex health and protection needs of displaced populations.
Responsibilities
Assist in implementing health assistance activities according to project plans and SOPs. Review and process health assistance requests, ensuring completeness and accuracy, and escalating complex cases. Support daily health assistance processes, including budget monitoring and expenditure tracking. Maintain systematic records of health assistance cases for monitoring and reporting. Identify implementation challenges and provide input for process improvements. Support emergency screening and referral processes in collaboration with relevant teams and partners. Facilitate timely referrals and follow up on cases to ensure continuity of care. Liaise with teams and partners to clarify procedures and improve related processes. Coordinate health assistance activities with other program components to align with broader humanitarian objectives. Perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Experience in health-related humanitarian assistance, public health programs, or field health operations is required. Experience in health service delivery, community outreach, or health programming in humanitarian settings is advantageous. Knowledge of emergency operations and liaising with international organizations is beneficial.
Skills
Good interpersonal, organizational, and coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure. Attention to detail in documentation review and procedure adherence. Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for case tracking, expenditure monitoring, record keeping, and reporting.
