Job Purpose
This internship aims to attract talented students and graduates interested in migration-related fields. The role supports all aspects of digital media engagement and communications for IOM Nigeria under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and Media and Communications Officer. The intern will gain practical experience in digital content creation, campaign execution, and communication strategy within an international organization, contributing to the promotion of safe migration pathways and enhancing IOM's digital presence.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist in producing high-quality digital content for various platforms, aligning with IOM Nigeria's objectives. Responsibilities include supporting the planning, creation, and execution of digital campaigns to promote safe migration, and designing visually engaging digital materials like banners and infographics. The role involves researching current digital communication trends, brainstorming creative ideas for internal communications and branding, and writing, editing, and uploading content to IOM Nigeria's digital platforms. Additionally, the intern will monitor and analyze digital campaign performance using analytics tools, report on effectiveness, and perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Demonstrated working knowledge of media and communications workflows, corporate communications within international organizations or the development sector, and social media/digital community management and engagement is required.
Skills
Proficiency in English (written and spoken), strong communication and listening skills, ability to write clearly and concisely, proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Competency in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) is an advantage. Demonstrable experience in media communications, including social media, and the ability to adapt to new environments and work with diverse individuals are essential.
