Job Purpose
This Project Associate role is crucial for supporting IOM Türkiye's Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) program. The program facilitates the orderly and humane return and reintegration of migrants wishing to return to their countries of origin. The incumbent will provide essential program support, contributing to the development of Türkiye's AVRR legislation and national operations. This involves close collaboration with governmental bodies, international institutions, UN agencies, NGOs, and diplomatic missions. The role is key to ensuring the effective implementation of AVRR activities, assisting migrants in their voluntary return and reintegration processes, and upholding IOM's mandate to promote safe and orderly migration.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, including retrieving, compiling, and analyzing project-related data. Responsibilities include monitoring budgets, verifying fund availability, and updating financial information. The role involves acting as a focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with diverse units and external parties, and processing administrative actions. The incumbent will draft status reports, identify delivery shortfalls, and suggest remedial actions. They will also prepare correspondence, reports, briefing notes, and other documentation. Additional duties include responding to information requests, maintaining files, organizing meetings and workshops, and participating in conferences. The role requires coordinating implementation activities with local authorities and partners, monitoring implementing partners, and providing guidance to junior staff. Case management support is also part of the responsibilities.
Work Experience
Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience in supporting project implementation, including administrative, financial, and logistical support, is essential. Proven analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary. Good computer literacy is required. Prior experience with international humanitarian organizations or governmental institutions in a multicultural setting is advantageous, as is experience working with implementing partner organizations. Experience with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, or victims of trafficking is an asset.
