Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to strengthen IOM's support for implementing and executing projects in São Miguel do Oeste, focusing on migrant populations. The role will enhance public policies to promote migrant protection, autonomy, and sustainable socio-economic integration, benefiting both migrants and the host community. A key objective is to build partnerships and capacities within the private sector, positioning it as a strategic partner for generating employment opportunities and fostering socio-economic inclusion. This collaborative ecosystem will drive local development and leverage diversity as an engine for innovation, all within the framework of the Porta Aberta program.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support for ongoing projects, focusing on migration governance, institutional capacity building, and promoting socio-economic integration and protection for migrants and refugees. This includes ensuring access to opportunities, public services, and decent work. The role involves supporting local capacity in issuing migratory documentation, contributing to strategy development, and participating in meetings to strengthen local migration governance. Responsibilities also include organizing monitoring and follow-up strategies, supporting outreach activities, and developing partnerships with the private sector to enhance migrant employment opportunities. Additionally, the consultant will promote capacity building for public and private sectors, coordinate information exchange, technically support event preparation, and participate in coordination meetings with the IOM team.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of professional experience in activities related to migration, refugees, protection, asylum, or statelessness programs is required. Additionally, a minimum of two years of professional experience working with either the private or public sectors is necessary.
